SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT
Ephesians 2:8-9Amplified Bible (AMP)
For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given everlasting life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious, FREE] GIFT of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
For we all have become like one who is [ceremonially] unclean [like a leper], And all our deeds of righteousness are like filthy rags; We all wither and decay like a leaf, And our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing], like the wind, takes us away [carrying us far from God’s favor, toward destruction].
Isaiah 64:6Amplified Bible (AMP)
EVERLASTING LIFE IS A FREE GIFT
John 3:16Amplified Bible (AMP)
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] Only Begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 6:23Amplified Bible (AMP)
For the wages of sin is death, but the FREE GIFT of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
RIGTHEOUSNESS IS A FREE GIFT
Romans 5:17-19Amplified Bible (AMP)
For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the FREE GIFT of Righteousness reign in [everlasting] life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then as through one trespass [Adam’s sin] there resulted condemnation for all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. For just as through one man’s disobedience [his failure to hear, his carelessness] the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous and acceptable to God and brought into right standing with Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21Amplified Bible (AMP)
He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious loving-kindness].
